Delivery and Assessment Methods

Two Delivery Method and Assessment Method fields are available for when printing Training Plan documents.

These fields are not used by Icare for any purpose other than printing. Specifically that are not involved in the AVETMISS Export process.

The Delivery Method is similar to the Delivery Mode (AVETMISS) field but gives each RTO the ability to code and name the Delivery Methods independently than the AVETMISS standards.

Available methods are entered at the system level and then the default methods are entered per-Module.

Assumptions

The current implementation only works for the simplest cases where the methods are not different per student or per course.

If the Delivery Method for a Module needs to be different depending on the Course or Student then Icare will need to be modified to allow such differences, please ask for this if needed.

If the Assessment Method for a Module needs to be different depending on the Course or Student then Icare will need to be modified to allow such differences, please ask for this if needed.

Enable Delivery and Assessment Methods

To use these two fields, you must first enable them on the Manage Policy page:

Enter the available methods

The available methods are entered on their respective management pages.

For example:

It is up to you how you name/code each method.

Some methods may be combined. For example: if some modules are delivered in the classroom, some online, and some as a combination of classroom and online you would need at least the following delivery methods available:

If your training plan does not have a lot of room for long method names (i.e. Classroom) then you may elect to use codes. Using the example above, you may have the following delivery methods available:

and a Key table containing C = Classroom, O = Online

Enter default methods per Module

Each Module has two fields, Default Delivery Method and Default Assessment Method. You can edit each module from the Manage Modules page and enter these fields.

To aid in knowing which modules have these fields entered or not, the Manage Modules page has a Show Delivery and Assessment Methods option that shows two additional columns with the methods shown. You can then see which modules do not yet have their methods entered.

Printing on a Training Plan

To print these fields as part of a Training Plan report you would use the following fields:

These fields would appear in the table row that contains the {List Module Enrolment} command.
