Victorian cohort

In 2023 a new Victorian field was added: Commencing Program Cohort Identifier. It identifies students belonging to specific cohort/s as defined by the Victorian Department of Education.

This field is located on the Enrolment page under the Victorian heading.

Introduction

The new field is only mandatory for enrolments commencing in 2023 onwards.

Commencing

Since the field is defined as commencing, Icare's recommencing enrolments have this field disabled. Units within the enrolment will get reported with the Cohort identified in the commencing enrolment.

Multiple cohorts

Multiple cohorts, none or up to three, can be identified. Icare allows for this by splitting the fields into two phases:

Cohort(s) identified

First a Cohort(s) identified field is answered No, Yes, or Not specified. If Yes is entered, then the second phase is enabled.

Cohort entry

That field is followed by two alternative ways of entering up to three cohorts: ticking or selecting. The current way, and method of changing way, is displayed as:

The current way (ticking or selecting) is displayed in bold and the alternative can be clicked to switch to that way.

The preference of way is remembered on a per user basis.

Ticking cohorts

If you use the ticking way of entering cohorts you will see a list of defined cohorts, or which you can tick up to three.

Selecting cohorts

If you use the selecting way of entering cohorts you will see three drop down fields.

If you are entering less than three cohorts then leave any remaining fields with the no selection option of ---.

NOTE: There is no priority order of cohorts reported, although Icare will retain the order you entered.
